Quartz
Customer Favorite
In recent years, quartz countertops have become increasingly popular. But what is quartz? Natural quartz is a mineral found widely in igneous, metamorphic, and sedimentary rocks. It is one of the hardest and most abundant minerals on earth.
Quartz countertops are a form of engineered stone created by mixing 90-95% natural quartz aggregates with 5-10% resins and polymers with pigments for color.
Our clients love quartz for many of the same reasons they love natural stone, namely its beauty, strength, and longevity. However, quartz offers some distinct advantages.
Unlike natural stone, quartz has a consistency in the slabs. Hence, it can offer simplicity in design along with an abundance of color options. Also, quartz is nonporous, so it is resistant to mold and bacteria. This makes it a healthy choice.
Quartz doesn't require regular polishing and sealing; it's virtually maintenance-free! Warm water and mild soap is usually all that is required.
Quartz is durable and resists stains, scratches, and most impact. It can, however, be damaged by heat if a hot pan is placed directly onto the countertop. A trivet is recommended. With quartz, dark colors can fade over time. If your room is bathed in natural light, we suggest a light-colored quartz or an alternate stone.
Quartz is the eco-friendly choice! Quartz is a commonly discarded product of other mining industries, so this puts the stone to good use and helps eliminate waste. Most leading quartz manufacturers are environmentally-conscious.
FEATURED MANUFACTURERS
CAESARSTONE
Since 1987, Caesarstone Ltd. has manufactured premium quartz surfaces. Caesarstone surfaces meet exacting standards of excellence from the initial procurement of raw materials to the final quality control check.
Caesarstone offers a myriad of design options with over 50 colors and 5 finishes. Newer introductions like Calacatta Maximus, which reimagines Calacatta Gold marble, and Black Tempal, whose dark grey mineral-like layers capture the essence of travertine and slate, will have you bathing in luxury without the price tag of natural stone.
Caesarstone quartz offers 4x the flexural strength and 2x the impact resistance of granite. It outperforms marble.
If you are concerned about off-gassing, you'll be happy to know that Caesarstone is certified by Greenguard. The Greenguard certification program administered by Underwriters Laboratories (UL) assures that certified products designed for use in indoor spaces meet strict chemical emissions limits. This contributes to the creation of healthier interiors in terms of indoor air quality.
ENIGMA
Enigma is a brand new material that is destined to revolutionize the stone industry.
Comprised of gibbsite and silicon oxide, it combines world-class aesthetics with the performance that only new engineering processes can provide. It is stronger than granite, more stain-resistant than quartz and dazzles with translucency rivaled only by natural marble.
Enigma is protected by NEOS, Nano Enhancement of Surfaces, an extraordinary, innovative and high-performance stain and substance repellent technology. Enigma Surfaces include a lifetime stain warranty.
Enigma features nineteen colors and three collections: Nazca, Moai, and Pyramids.
Looking for something groundbreaking and exquisite? Look no further than Enigma Surfaces.
